Approaching Wasdale Head - the new temporary bridge is located centre picture

The new bridge has been erected on the foundations of the old pack horse style bridge that was built during the second world war by Polish workers.  It was shame to see it's demise.

We look forward to seeing the permanent replacement which we hope will fit into the environment a little better than this one.  Let's hope we don't have to have the road closed for another six  months
