Santa Came to help the Team
Saturday 13th December 2003 - Whitehaven
Every year the shoppers in Whitehaven dig into their pockets to support the team. This year was no exception and a fantastic sum of £1,373.23 was raised. Richard Longman, Team Treasurer puts a lot of effort into organising the event and even more effort counting those pennies. This year there were also a few notes put into the collecting boxes. Whether its £5.00 or 5 pence, it is all gratefully received..............
Martin Young, Deputy Team Leader with his dog (yes his DOG is that mix of colour) - note the inflatable Father Christmas which was tied to the telescopic radio aerial at the rear of the landrover. |
||
Martin Willey, Team Member with his dog Charlie |
||
Julian Carradice, Team Leader (believe it or not) in the reverse role of accepting gifts from the children |
||
| This little boy will now expect Santa to park a his
stretcher on the roof of his house before abseiling down the chimney with
a present in a rucksack.
Come to think of it, Julian is quite used to chimneying* when out climbing.
[a chimney is a vertical cleft/ deep recess in a rock face for those of you who don't climb - chimneying* is the technique used to climb it] |
